As the go-to trade association for UK retail business, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) was founded by retailers who wanted to harmonise food safety standards across the supply chain. A division of this was developed into a global standard that grew into a global brand (BRCGS) building confidence in the supply chain. Their global standards set the benchmark for good manufacturing practise and provide assurance to customers that products are safe, legal, and of high quality.
